King Geedorah is a hip-hop project created by MF DOOM in 2003. The album, Take Me to Your Leader, was released on Big Dada Records and featured production from Metal Fingers himself as well as frequent collaborator Madlib.
It was the first full length release under the King Geedorah moniker. The genre of the album is an experimental blend of hip hop, jazz, funk and soul. Lyrics for the album were written by MF DOOM and feature guest appearances from many other artists including Cee-Lo Green, Rodan, Megalon, and King Ghidra. Take Me to Your Leader received positive reviews from critics who praised its unique sound and lyrical content. Interesting facts about the album include that it was originally intended to be a collaboration between MF DOOM and Madlib, but due to scheduling conflicts, only one track ended up being made together. Additionally, the title of the album is a reference to the classic sci-fi film, Godzilla: King of the Monsters.
