The Offspring's song "Feelings" was released on the album Ixnay on the Hombre in 1997. It was written by lead singer Dexter Holland and guitarist Noodles, with the band performing all of the instruments.
The lyrics are an ode to teenage angst and confusion as they sing about a young man struggling to understand his emotions. They describe how he is torn between wanting to be accepted by others and feeling like an outsider. The chorus of the song sums up this theme perfectly: “I've got something inside me that pulls beneath the surface/Consuming, confusing/What is it? I wish I knew.”
