Sel 600 is a Canadian rock band formed in the late 1990s. The group consists of lead vocalist and guitarist Mark Gane, bassist and backing vocalist Mike Young, drummer Paul Murphy, and keyboardist/guitarist Chris Brown.
Their debut album, "In the End," was released in 1999 to critical acclaim. It featured their hit single, "The World Is Yours," which was written by Gane and Young and reached No. 5 on the Canadian charts. The album showcased Sel 600's unique blend of alternative rock, pop, and funk influences, and its lyrics were praised for their poetic quality. Other singles from the record included "Falling Down" and "Dreamers." In addition to touring extensively throughout Canada, the band had successful stints in Europe and Japan. They followed up with two more albums: "Lost & Found" (2001) and "Beautiful Mess" (2004). Both records continued to explore the themes of love, loss, and hope that characterized the band’s lyrics. Sel 600 remains active today, releasing new music and performing live shows.
