Lamb Of God Lyrics
Marilyn Manson
Lyrics
There was Christ in the metal shell
There was blood on the pavement
The camera will make you God
That's how Jack became sainted
If you die when there's no one watching
And your ratings drop and you're forgotten
If they kill you on their TV
You're a martyr and a lamb of God
Nothing's gonna change
Nothing's gonna change the world
There was Lennon and a happy gun
There were words on the pavement
We were looking for the lamb of God
We were looking for Mark David
If you die when there's no one watching
And your ratings drop and you're forgotten
If they kill you on their TV
You're a martyr and a lamb of God
Nothing's gonna change the world
Nothing's gonna change
Nothing's gonna change the world
Nothing's gonna change the world
It took three days for him to die
The born again could buy the serial rights
Lamb of God have mercy on us
Lamb of God won't you grant us
Nothing's gonna change the world
Nothing's gonna change
Nothing's gonna change the world
Nothing's gonna change
Nothing's gonna change the world
Nothing's gonna change
Nothing's gonna change the world
Nothing's gonna change the world
If you die when there's no one watching
And your ratings drop and you're forgotten
If they kill you on their TV
You're a martyr and a lamb of God
Nothing's gonna change the world
Song & Lyrics Facts
Marilyn Manson and Lamb of God released a collaboration single titled "The Nobodies" on November 15, 2000. It was featured as part of the soundtrack for the film "Lamb of God".
The song was written by Marilyn Manson and Lamb of God frontman Randy Blythe and produced by Dave Sardy. The track also features a guitar solo from John 5 who was a member of Marilyn Manson's band at the time. The lyrics to "The Nobodies" describe an individual's feelings of alienation and loneliness in society. This theme is further explored in the accompanying music video which portrays a group of outcast children being persecuted by religious zealots. The single has since become one of the most popular songs by both Marilyn Manson and Lamb of God.
