"Oblivion" is a song by Argentine composer and bandoneon player Ástor Piazzolla, featuring the Spanish classical guitar duo Duo Macondo. This classic tango was released on the album Tango: Balada para un loco in 1979.
The album includes some of his most famous pieces such as "Adios Nonino", "Balada para un Loco" and "Tristeza de Un Doble A". It has been described as one of the most important albums of the 20th century. The lyrics for this tango were written by Horacio Ferrer and the music composed by Piazzolla himself. Duo Macondo consists of two members, Juan Carlos Romero and José Antonio Rodríguez, who have worked together since 1985 to perform Piazzolla's works. Their interpretation of “Oblivion” is considered to be one of their best performances and it has become an iconic piece of the genre.
