F.R. David is a French pop singer who released the single "Sahara Night" in 1981 from his debut self-titled album.
The song was written by F.R. David, Jean-Michel Rivat and Philippe Boutin and produced by F.R. David himself. It was recorded with the help of the band Artful Dodger which included keyboardist Claude Gaudette. The lyrics tell of a night spent in the Sahara desert under a starry sky. The track was a big hit across Europe and was even featured on the soundtrack for the movie “La Boum 2” in 1982.
