Snowblind Lyrics
Black Sabbath
Lyrics
What you get or what you see
Things that don't come easily
Feeling happy in my vein
Icicles within my brain (Cocaine)
Something blowing in my head
Winds of ice that soon will spread
Down to freeze my very soul
Makes me happy, makes me cold
My eyes are blind but I can see
The snowflakes glisten on the tree
The sun no longer sets me free
I feel the snowflakes freezing me
Let the winter sun shine on
Let me feel the frost of dawn
Fill my dreams with flakes of snow
Soon I'll feel the chilling glow
Right
Don't you think I know what I'm doing?
Don't tell me that it's doing me wrong
You're the one that's really the loser
This is where I feel I belong
Blind
Crystal world with winter flowers
Turn my days to frozen hours
Lying snowblind in the sun
Will my ice age ever come?
Song & Lyrics Facts
Black Sabbath's "Snowblind" is a song from their fifth studio album, Vol. 4, released in 1972.
The heavy metal band was formed in Birmingham, England in 1968 and consists of Ozzy Osbourne (lead vocals), Tony Iommi (guitar), Geezer Butler (bass) and Bill Ward (drums). This particular track was written by the band members alongside lyricist Chris Welch. It has become one of Black Sabbath's most popular songs due to its intense riffs and powerful lyrics about drug addiction. According to Rolling Stone magazine, "Snowblind" was inspired by the cocaine use that was rampant among the group during this period. The song has since been covered by several other artists including Slayer, who released a version on their 1994 album Divine Intervention.
